- He has his Bachelors in Civil Engineering from the University of Mysore with Second Rank in the year1971. He has his post graduate training from Walling Ford Institute of Hydrology, U.K. in the year 1981.
- He has served as Regional Director of Central Ground Water Board(CGWB) in the State Karnataka And Tamilnadu.
- He is the first Kannadiga to occupy the post of Commissioner ( Ground Water) in the Ministry of Water Resources, Govt of India.
- Before to his retirement he served as Member CGWB. He has over all 35 years of valuable national and international experience in Groundwater management, watershed management, and rainwater harvesting.
- He is national and internationally acclaimed ground water expert and has in valuable experience in the various aspects of Ground water resource assessment, investigation, scheme implementation, monitoring of regime and quality, augmentation of resources through Artificial recharge to ground water.
- He has implemented various schemes on artificial recharge to ground water in the states of Karnataka, Goa, Tamilnadu and Pondichery. Implemented artificial recharge to ground water through rain water harvesting in Bangalore University, Bangalore Development Authority, Police training Centre Bangalore and in The Military training School, Belgaum.
- Prepared Artificial recharge to ground water manual, which is released by the Hon. Union Minister for Water Resources during the National Ground Water Congress Formulated Rs 3000 crores scheme of artificial recharge to groundwater through dug wells in 12 states for implementation.
- Served as Member Secretary of the Artificial recharge to Ground water council with a National level membership of 40 eminent personalities headed by Hon. union minister. Worked as a hydrologist in the World Bank assisted Kasai Suvarnarekha ground water Survey project.
- Worked as a watershed management expert for the preparation of master plan for water Resources in Ethiopia under Indian Technical and Economic cooperation where in 75 Irrigation projects and 330 micro hydel projects were identified. Completed financial appraisal Of the projects in record time.
- Worked as an expert in the Suvarnarekha multipurpose irrigation project under World Bank Worked as ground water modeling expert in the Gagger River basin World Bank Project.
- Executed World Bank aided hydrology project in the state of Tamilnadu and Karnataka. Over 65 technical papers/ scientific reports presented in various conferences, national and International seminars
- Visited 12 countries as part of technical guidance under Water Power Consultancy Services.
